In Honor of Bob
At the Pittsburgh Blogfest last night, Bob of Subdivided We Stand told me that his life is just SO hectic right now that, fond as he is of Creating Text(iles), he can't fit it into his erratic blog-reading schedule cause I write too much. Not too often, he means. He means too long. Like I go on and on and on, yatta yatta yatta.
Alas.
Well, in Bob's honor, we will today, in place of my usually well crafted blither, have short blither, in easy installments. With links. Just like a regular blog.
1) I'm happy to discover that I'm not likely to die soon from my new non-fat tall latte habit, which I indulge in at the Starbuck's on campus. I know this because Death By Caffeine told me so. It would take 292.50 cups to take me out, and I can't afford them, being only a lowly English Professor.
2) Did I ever show you the most excellent dead animals in the world? I don't think I did.
3) Inner Bitch has taken to exhibiting more knitting than I've done in months, but I think they missed this site. Do scroll down for knitted dead bunny rabbit impaled by knitted carrot. No, Christina, you may not have one. Badger Vanessa.
4) Oh, hell, maybe I should knit a dead bunny for Christina after all, since she was so kind as to send me a link to the catapult watch, which, should I ever acquire a class of freshmen who can't behave themselves (unlike the one I've got right now, which is a MODEL CLASS OF EXCELLENT DARLINGNESS (some of them read this, so I want them to understand completely how un-dissed they have been)), I can keep order without leaving the podium. Very medieval.
5) Oh, what happy day it was when the Pittsburgh Webloggers hit 300! Yes! That many of us! Truly we are mighty indeed, and much like New York, except for that cool blog map. And! What a remarkable stroke of luck that the 300th blog was Ben Roethlisberger's! Really! No kidding! Much discussion of this last night at the Blogfest. We rule.
As for the rest of the news: The Siamese kittens are doing very well. Chanthra is at the moment on my lap, impeding the blog. She says hello. Oh, look, here's Dara. Lila now chases them, which we think is a good sign. They're absolutely not scared of her -- they jump on her head when she walks by the doorways in which they are hiding -- and we figure they're genetically engineered to know if they should keep out of her way. No, they love her and want to be with her, and they love us and want to be with us, and they love the visitors and want to be with them, and they jump all over everything all over the house and then they pass out on our laps and then they wake up and do it all again.
Ok, Bob. That was long, but it was in easily digested bits. All for you.
Alas.
