Update: Bathroom Lights Now Working, Back Door Still Shut
I'm at work, where I'm entering Many Important Bits of Information into my tome,* and Sam has called to tell me that he's gotten the downstairs bathroom lights on (see earlier entry, today). And how did he do this? Apparently he had some inspired fit, and instead of going down to the basement and carefully making sure all the circuit breakers were on, he went downstairs to the basement and toggled ALL the circuits, no matter what they went to, back and forth for a while. It is possible that he was having a little fit of frustration, but all those who know him would say, nah, that couldn't happen. Nah. Not in a million years.
Well. Whatever his state of mind, when he went back upstairs, the bathroom lights Suddenly! All of a sudden! worked for no reason at all.
So we're happy.
The back door is still shut, though.
But that's ok, cause I just had an inspired fit. You know that bit in Alice Through the Looking Glass, where Alice is trying to get to the garden and she can't get there cause she keeps walking towards the garden but ending up at the house, until she tries walking towards the house instead and ends up at the garden?
Well! If we just go out to the backyard, and instead of walking towards the house, walk towards the garden, quickly, we'll end up at the backdoor, and we'll just open it and walk in! Yes! This can work!
And if that doesn't work, Sam can jiggle the handle, in a non-frustrated manner.
