Rosary With Aliens

Got some knitting done over the last few days, when I wasn't writing that paper wherein I explain how it is that the York "Crucifixion" kicks the butt of Gibson's Passion, only in academic language:

That was the progress of the top-down raglan in Trendsetter "Dune." Here's the border of "Cecily of York," all ready for me to set the main pattern, which will end up being yet another one of those fiddly things that takes forever (now have three going; I'd best stop starting them):

And that's it for knitting today, except that I'm Very Jealous of the ivory "AbFab" throw Jon's making for the Big Gay Wedding. I'm not not not going to make one for me, though. Maybe a Big Wedding, gay or otherwise, but not me. Because I can't see it lasting more than about a week around here before losing its pristine gorgeousness. We have cats.

The "AbFab" I made for a Really Beloved Friend has recently become a cat bed. I get updates on the extent to which the cats have not actually damaged it yet. They just lie on it, I'm told. And they LOVE it. Indeed! As well they might! It's not ivory, though. So when the inevitable hairballs show up (and believe me, I'll get a report), they won't be quite as startling as they would be on the "AbFab" that Jon's making.

But to my main point. I'd like your help today.

Please explain:

I found this temporary sculpture on the sofa after the child had been watching his allotted hour of TV. Recognizable objects are a glow-in-the-dark rosary, three glow-in-the-dark aliens, and one glow-in-the-dark snake. I don't know what the two non-radioactive inert pieces of plastic are.

So my questions are, what? and why?

I see that there's a theme -- that would be the glow-in-the-dark part -- and I see that there's some sort of metaphoric continuity. Believe me, I wouldn't put it past this child to have connected, in his head, the non-terrestrial qualities of both Our Lady and the aliens, and maybe even have connected in The Tempter. Maybe not, though. Maybe this is all about shape and color.

Anyway. You decide.
