Not Much. Not Much At All.

Had one of those blogger moments -- an email from an old friend I hadn't talked to in years, who found me when she googled my name and hit the blog. Goodness. I'd heard that happened. Nice side benefit of thinking up things to say regularly.

Which is difficult at the moment, cause everything's quiet. The week's starting up, but it hasn't really hit yet. I've got no meetings scheduled today, but please don't tell anybody, as they'll then immediately come and drag me out of my office and cause me to sit around the new conference table with a bunch of people of whom I'm very fond, actually, but with whom I don't want to sit around the table today.

No, I'm going to lock the door and write. Then when people hear the CD player going, and knock on the door to see if the tea is ready, I'm going to pretend I'm somebody else. Sorry! Anne's not here! I'm the...the research assistant! Yeah, that's it! The research assistant! -- and then I'll drink all the tea and eat all the biscotti. Even though I've been promised an entire paragraph in the acknowledgments.*

The mohair shiny Trendsetter "Dune" sweater** I started the other day is coming along very quickly. A big advantage to that pattern. You can acquire droves of fluffy shiny sweaters in no time at all. Then, I'll work on something more difficult.

But it's too quiet today. Much too quiet. Something must be on the way.

*This is SO never going to happen, in real life. The real research assistant, encouraged constantly over the last four years to drink the tea, eat the biscotti, and play the CDs, never never never does. She's a lot more circumspect than me. I would have et that biscotti RIGHT up.

**Kay thinks I should call it "Mindless Bit O'Fluff II." You got it, sugar. And then the next one can be "Folly II."
