In Which I Start New Projects

Oh, I was so excellently good for a while, but alas, that stage of the season's over.

I had the Starmore Fair Isle "Queen Anne's Lace" on the needles, and it's slow going because the gauge is small and, since I don't enjoy the colors, I don't work on it much. (Why are you knitting this then, O Foolish One? Because. I don't know. Shut up.) And I had the Starmore "Margaret Tudor" on the needles, and it's slow going, because the gauge is small and the pattern fiddly, and I can't work on it if I'm tired, and since my work life is Pretty Full, I'm often tired at night. And I had a pair of socks on the needles, but they're not going very quickly, cause I've got them at work, where I'm also working on a Big Secret, which I can't tell you about on account of the secrecy part.

And then Sam rescued all that yarn, from the water in the basement, so I started more things.

I've gone lower than I ever have before. Usually if I'm going to start a new project, I wait till the rest of the projects are substantially worked on, but this time, I'd gotten only about a two and a half inches into Jade Starmore's "Cecily of York":

when I cast on for another top-down-raglan, in Trendsetter "Dune":

Those of you who pay attention to this sort of thing will notice that the new mohair sweater is going to turn out just like some others I've done, "Folly":

and "Mindless Bit O'Fluff":

Yes. Exactly the same pattern. Easy, quick, and the yarn carries the look. Also, I love to wear these things. Indeed, I've got one more batch of Interesting Mohair for a FOURTH top-down-raglan in fluffy yarn.

I don't know what to call this one. It'll probably get done before anything else on the needles at the moment. And then I'll wear it lots. And in the meantime, whenever I need easy cable work, I've got "Cecily," and when I need fiddly cable work I've got "Margaret," and when I need color stranding I've got "Queen Anne." So. This should keep me going for a while.

However, I DO have a pretty big stash of needles. I COULD start something else if I wanted....
