Knitting Library
Some of the graduate students are coming over this weekend for tea and knitting clinic.
We're going to drag my entire knitting library out of the sewing room, sit around and look at books, and discuss the fine art of purling, which I understand has been causing a little grief down in the Teaching Assistants' office.
Can't have that. Must fix.
My knitting library, however, turns out to be worth Bunches of Money. June Hiatt's Principles of Knitting recently went for over $230.00 on eBay. The Scottish Collection, which has some nice early Alice Starmore designs, sometimes goes for more than $400.00. (But hurry! As of this morning, there's a copy at just over $100.00!)
Ok. Maybe no TEA while we're looking at the books. Maybe white gloves and smocks.
I think I need some of those nice glass cases the British Library uses. Yes, and some soft lighting so as to preserve the photos in these fine volumes. If only I didn't write all over them, alas. I think that docks the value somewhat.
All the kids just have to remember. When I die -- put all this stuff up on eBay. You never know.
