Easter Roast Beef
We're home today, still on Easter break -- oooh! an extra day off! cool! -- so the child is listening to his music, all over the house. ALL over the house. If, apparently, you put your CD's on in your room upstairs, and sit one of your walkie-talkies next to the player, you can drag the other walkie-talkie all around, lo, even down unto the basement, until your mother asks you what the hell you think you're doing!? on account of the walkie-talkies drive her crazy.
Yes. Well. If it weren't raining, I'd make him go outside. As it is, I believe today's the First Communion Pew Banner Making Day. Later, we cut up felt.
Oh, we loved our feast yesterday. Did we have roast lamb, in honor of the Jewish roots of the feast? We did not, cause we don't really like roast lamb. We think we ought to, but we don't. What we like to do with a big ol' hunk of lamb is cut it up into pieces and put it in the freezer later for curry, and use the bone for Scotch Broth. Did we have ham, in honor of the Celtic roots of the feast? We did not, cause when we have ham, we eat some and save some for sandwiches, and use the bone for Hoppin' John, and put the rest in the freezer, and we still have two packages in the freezer left from Christmas, so we don't need any more ham right now.
No, we had roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, and oh, it was good. Now we have roast beef in the freezer.
And here's what I did yesterday:

Sam went upstairs for a nap, and by the time he came down, the little hat was done, in time for a baby shower coming up soon. (Maggi! Do NOT be mentioning it to Dr. Savage!)
It's spring and truly spring, but it's chilly. And wet. Still a good time for knitting.
